Over the last few years, Hull has developed a first class beer community, and boasts some outstanding breweries, big and small.
This case is a celebration of just a few of those, and features beers from a range of styles.
The perfect case for anyone with a love of craft beer, real ale, and HULL!!
Vittles and Company
Our very own micro brewery (and we do mean micro – 50 Litres!). Based right in the heart of Hull’s Trinity Market food court – a hotbed of street food and delicious treats.
Weiss Spice Witbier – 4.5% – 330ml
One of our first ever beers, and still one of our favourites. A classic Witbier recipe brewed with coriander seeds and orange peel.
Trinity Mild – 4.7% – 500ml
Based on a traditional mild recipe (albeit amped up a bit to 4.7%). We develop this recipe for our Hull clientele who regaled us with tales of the Hull Brewery Mild of old.
Hull is rightly proud of Atom brewery. They’re on the cutting edge of UK Craft beer, and their beers reflect a scientific ethos born of the founders background in the teaching of science.
Catalyst APA – 5.4% – 440ml
Every beer collection needs an IPA, and we think this ranks amongst the best of them. It’s hoppy, aromatic, bitter and balanced – everything a great IPA should be.
Bone Machine Brewery
One of our favourite local breweries, run by two brothers who originally hail from Finland. Until recently based in Pocklington, Kimi and Marco have recently moved in to the TapHouse on Hull Marina.
Bad Dog, No Biscuits Gose- 4.5% – 330ml
This one’s a bit out of left field. Certainly not a traditional beer, this gose proves the great breweries of Hull can mix it with the best when I comes to sours and fruity beers.
One of the smaller of Hull’s breweries, this is a one-man operation, and a strong favourite amongst Hull’s real ale fans. The brewery is named after the street on which the beer is brewed.
Chocolate Porter – 5.8% – 330ml
Bricknell’s chocolate porter is quite simply one of the most popular beers sold in our shop. It’s a rich, smooth chocolately ale which feels like a real indulgence.
Technically not a Hull brewery, but close enough to feel like it belongs in the collection – Great Newsome are purveyors of some cracking real ales. Straightforward beer, brewed with their own barley.
Jem’s Stout – 4.3% – 500ml
Jem’s Stout is a flagship beer, named after the late Jem, an English Springer Spaniel, who fondly features in the brewery logo
